Three-Alarm Fire in NY Damages Multiple Properties

Feb. 22, 2022
A fire and explosions at a welding shop in Colonie spread to other buildings and multiple dwellings.

Fuller Road firefighters were sent to multiple reports of an explosion and fire that destroyed a welding shop and damaged multiple other structures in Colonie.

The explosion affected five buildings in total — one being an old welding repair shop. The homeowner told NEWS 10, the building was around 70 years old, and that he used the space for car repairs. That building has been destroyed.

During the fire, a water main break created water supply issues for firefighters. Multiple departments assisted with operations bringing more than 100 firefighters to the scene.
